Williams linked up with Portsmouth but after two years in the Championship with Pompey, the defender has dropped back into the third tier.
The right-back has sealed a season-long move to Blackpool, who are due to visit Oakwell on September 1.
He said: “I’m delighted to be here. After speaking to the manager on how he wants to play, it was a no-brainer for me. His style of play will suit me, and I can’t wait to get going in a tangerine shirt.”

Evatt said: “We are delighted to have added Jordan to our ranks, providing further quality to our back line ahead of the 2026/27 season.
“His versatility and experience will be a huge asset to us and I can’t wait to start working with him as we continue to build towards our opener against Grimsby Town.”

Jordan Williams’ Barnsley exit
When Williams’ six-year association with Barnsley came to an end, he issued a heartfelt farewell message to the Oakwell faithful.
He said: “I have had six amazing years at Barnsley, from the moment I signed until today, I have made so many memories that will stick with me forever. It’s such a shame we couldn’t end it on a high. It’s a been a rollercoaster of a time with never a dull moment.
“I have made friends for life and met some amazing people that have helped me grow as a footballer and a person. To be club captain was a huge honour. Thank you for everything.”
