Buxton v Scarborough Athletic: Pride powering Seadogs in play-off
"Self-pride" will fuel Scarborough Athletic in their first game in the Conference North play-offs.
The phoenix club are at Buxton on Tuesday for an "eliminator" to decide who faces South Shields in Saturday's semi-final.
Buxton were the only team to beat the Seadogs in their final dozen matches of the regular campaign, 2-0 on April 11.
"We didn't play very well there so we want to go there and rectify that and show them we are a really good team," said manager Jonathan Greening, who won the Northern Premier League's Premier Division play-offs with Boro in 2022.
"I wouldn't say revenge is the word, we were more upset with the way we performed against Buxton.
"I think there's a bit of self-pride in there from the players. They want to go there and show they're much better players than they showed last time.
"That's the main focus, going there and making sure the XI perform really well, the players who come off the bench perform really well and give them a real good go because we're only three games away from the National League (Premier Division)."
Former Middlesbrough, and York City player Greening will be hoping his part-time players can get time off for their day jobs for the trip to Derbyshire. Buxton have no such concerns.

"They're a full-time team with a big budget, they've got some really good technical players you've got to watch," he said.
"We've got the same. I know we're only a part-time team but we're fit, we're strong, we've got good quality players, it's about performing on the day."
Play-off games in the National League are one-off matches on the ground of the team finishing highest. Macclesfield play Chester in Wednesday's other quarter-final, for the right to go to Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday.
