Reading 2 Doncaster Rovers 0: We made too many mistakes, says O’Driscoll

Reading cleared some of the gloom surrounding the Madejski Stadium with a convincing npower Championship victory over Doncaster this afternoon.

The Royals, who went into the game on a four-match losing streak, dominated throughout and were good value for their three points.

Second-half goals from Simon Church and former Rotherham striker Adam Le Fondre ensured Brian McDermott could sleep a little easier, after the Reading manager revealed earlier this week he was being kept up until the middle of the night by his side’s precarious position in the table.

But Rovers are slumped at the bottom of the Championship and still searching for their first win.

Doncaster manager Sean O’Driscoll felt Doncaster were unfortunate that Reading’s opener was not given as a foul on Sullivan.

“He got one hand to the ball and Le Fondre jumped into him. In English football if you jump into the keeper you give away a foul.

“We made too many mistakes and in this position you can’t afford to make many mistakes.

“It’s too easy to say that we are not getting the rub of the green.
