FC Halifax Town v Scunthorpe United: Anything still possible, insists Adam Lakeland as Shaymen seek National League karma
TODAY'S game at The Shay simply couldn't come fast enough for FC Halifax Town manager Adam Lakeland.
After watching his Town side hit a 'pothole' en route to an undeserved home loss to Carlisle United on Tuesday evening - Lakeland has been counting down the hours until game-time against another high-flying visitor in the shape of Scunthorpe United, managed by ex-Doncaster Rovers stalwart Andy Butler.
The Shaymen chief was effusive in his praise of his in-form side's efforts against the Cumbrians and is confident if they maintain that same level of performance in the club's remaining National League games, then their play-off quest is by no means over.
His team's numbers over the past few months certainly back up that viewpoint.

He said: "It's another game coming thick and fast and another tough game.
"But that's what you want. Football is about momentum and whenever you lose, you want a game quickly.
"We've been in decent form. I told the lads before the (Carlisle) game that in the last 20 games, there were only York, Rochdale and Carlisle who were above us in the form guide. We were fourth with 37 points.
"We've been doing well for quite a while and hit an undeserved bump in the road - like a pothole…

"I have no doubt we will put in another good performance, which we will need to do against a good Scunthorpe team.
"If we perform anything like that another six times, then we are going to win plenty of those games."
Halifax have the benefit of an extra 24 hour's rest with the Iron being in action on Wednesday night in a 2-2 home draw with Rochdale, with a late goal from ex-Doncaster Rovers man Alfie Beestin giving them a point - and also be celebrated at Dale's promotion rivals York.
