Free agent XI: Potential targets for EFL clubs including ex-Leeds United, Aston Villa & Sheffield Wednesday men

The summer transfer window may be a distant memory but clubs can still sign free agents.

There is a vast array of different players on the market, ranging from promising up-and-comers to seasoned veterans. In recent years, a number of clubs have dipped into this market to significantly strengthen their ranks.

It is at this stage of the season, when a club is settling into the campaign, that it becomes clear what was missed in the summer transfer window. Injuries also start to wreak havoc, leaving squads in need of reinforcements.

It is not uncommon for managers to publicly declare their interest in the free agent market - just as Bradford City boss Graham Alexander has done.

The Yorkshire Post have assembled a free agent XI, comprised of players who could prove to be appealing options for EFL clubs, particularly those in the Championship.
