Birmingham City boss Chris Davies reveals key clause in Hull City winger Liam Millar's loan deal

Birmingham City boss Chris Davies has revealed an important clause in Hull City winger Liam Millar’s loan deal

Hull City cannot recall Liam Millar from his loan spell at Birmingham City, according to Blues boss Chris Davies.

Millar was a key figure for the Tigers last term, helping Sergej Jakirovic’s men secure promotion to the Premier League.

He started the season in the Hull ranks but was sent back to the Championship on a season-long loan deal in the dying embers of the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old has hit the ground running in the Midlands and Davies has claimed the winger cannot see his spell terminated by the Tigers.

Liam Millar clause revealed

As reported by Birmingham Live, Davies said: “I can give everyone their Christmas present early and say that there’s no return clause to Hull and he’s with us for the whole season, which makes us all happy. He’s made a great start.

“I think I’m right in saying he’s made a real commitment to the area in terms of his personal circumstances as well with his family which says a lot for a loan player. He’s fully invested, he’s fully bought into this and he’s going to be with us for the whole season.”

Liam Millar’s new lease of life

Millar has scored four goals across seven league appearances for Birmingham and looks to be loving life in blue.

He said: “The gaffer was very open with me that he’s wanted me for a long time. I think, this period, I really just wanted to be wanted and I wanted to be appreciated.

“I felt like, at times, that wasn’t the case for me. I think that was a big thing. The conversations I had with the gaffer, with the sporting directors here, and also the stadium and the environment [were factors].

“It was very quick to be honest - I didn’t really know what was going on. It was very quick. Listen, I wish I could speak more to you boys about what’s obviously gone on at Hull and that, but I’m not going to speak about that at this time.”
