Hull City player ratings: Defenders shine in third straight clean sheet
Hull City’s defence excelled itself once again as the Tigers continued their unbeaten start to life back in the Premier League with a 0-0 draw at home to Aston Villa.
The Tigers are yet to concede a goal in the league this season, and although Villa missed to excellent chances early in the second half, once again, they did brilliantly to limit what the opposition made of the majority of the possession.
Konstantinos Tzolakis – not much chance to burnish his growing reputation with Aston Villa so toothless 6
Lewie Coyle – kept honest by promising youngster George Hemmings, he was substituted in the second half 6
Semi Ajayi – some good defending to contribute to a third straight clean sheet 7
John Egan – brilliantly threw himself in the way of a Ross Barkley shot and produced an excellent tackle on Hemmings 8
Nobel Mendy – had a couple of moments where he took risks and for the third game running he failed to last the distance, but there is promise there 6
Ryan Giles – put in a wonderful late cross he might have expected Oli McBurnie to convert 7

Lucas Gourna – did not let anyone down on his first Premier League start 6
Regan Slater – providing his usual energy 7
Mohamed Belloumi – hit the woodwork from a very tight angle 7
Oli McBurnie – led the line well but a couple of bad finishes let him down 6

Elliot Stroud – yet to look up to the level but he is young and adjusting to a new country 5
