Lee Clark expecting to bow out as Rotherham United's season ends in a whimper
Lee Clark expects to leave his role as the manager of Rotherham this month, after failing to guide them away from the relegation zone.
He only won one of his nine games in charge, losing six, as the Millers suffered demotion to League Two for the first time since 2012.
Despite this, he praised the club’s fans for the support they have shown him since his arrival at the end of March, as well as wishing the supporter who fell ill in the first half all the best.
He said: “I thought the team played some excellent stuff with the ball when we talked about the game, our Achilles heel has been what it’s been this season.

“Defensively we haven’t been doing enough to win enough football matches and when I say defensively that’s not just pointing fingers at defenders, that’s all about the whole group, you have to defend as a group from the front all the way through and you know over the course of the season we haven’t been good enough at doing that all the game.
“The supporters of this football club have been absolutely amazing since I came in.”
The home side took the lead through Taylor Allen’s first goal for the club after 11 minutes, before a quick-fire double from Jack Holmes gave the Millers the lead 10 minutes later.
However, Bradley Fink’s first league strike of the campaign two minutes later made the game level, before Micah Olabiyi smashed home the winner in stoppage time.
