Leicester City's on-loan Rennes star Jordan James on Leeds United's transfer 'radar'
Leicester City's on-loan Rennes star Jordan James linked with Leeds United
Leicester City loanee Jordan James has reportedly emerged on Leeds United’s radar.
The 21-year-old, a product of Birmingham City’s academy, moved to France with Rennes back in the summer of 2024.
He returned to British shores last summer for a season on loan at Leicester, one that has been eventful to say the least.
The Foxes have been relegated to League One but James has been a standout performer, registering 11 goals and four assists across 33 appearances. Leicester have an option to buy the midfielder, but he looks unlikely to settle for life in the third tier.

According to Football Insider, Leeds are among the clubs eyeing a move for James this summer.
The outlet’s correspondent Pete O’Rourke said: “I think there’ll be a lot of clubs looking at Jordan James. You’ll have Premier League clubs, you’ll have top Championship clubs looking at him as well. He’s been one of the shining lights for Leicester in a real dismal season for them
“He’s still only 21 as well, James, and is a full Wales international. He’s got huge potential. There will be clubs ready to try and sign him from Rennes.”
A former England youth international, James now represents Wales at international level and is therefore well-acquainted with a clutch of Leeds players. He has represented the Dragons alongside Leeds quartet Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and Daniel James.
The midfielder can operate as an box-to-box player, an anchor or a playmaker, which could increase his appeal to the Leeds decision-makers.

Leeds United’s history with Rennes and Leicester City
Leeds last did business with Rennes in the summer of 2024, selling Finland international midfielder Glen Kamara to the Ligue 1 club. The Whites had previously dealt with the club in 2020, striking a deal for Brazilian wing wizard Raphinha.
Leeds also dealt with Leicester last year, striking a £10m deal to take versatile defender James Justin from the King Power Stadium.
