Leeds United star previously linked with Chelsea 'shortlisted' by Aston Villa and Brighton

Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville has reportedly been shortlisted by Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 22-year-old is enjoying the most productive campaign of his career to date, having registered 17 goals and nine assists for Leeds already this season. His most recent goal, a stunning curling effort, came in the Good Friday draw at Watford.

Hornets boss Tom Cleverley hailed the Dutchman as the best player in the league following the game and it is a sentiment shared among many. His form has unsurprisingly led to transfer speculation and he has previously been linked with Chelsea, Everton, Crystal Palace and Burnley.

Leeds’ chances of holding on to Summerville appear likely to be dependent on their fate in the Championship this term. The offer of Premier League football would certainly strengthen the argument that he should remain at Elland Road.

He first arrived at Leeds in the summer of 2020, following the club’s promotion to the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa. Initially assigned to the under-23 side, he slowly but surely made his way into the first-team picture.

Since moving into the senior set-up, he has scored 21 goals in 79 appearances.
