Leeds United transfer news: Whites complete loan signing of Premier League winger

Leeds United have completed the loan signing of right-footed left winger Manor Solomon from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 25-year-old Israeli international is the second player of that profile to join the Championship club in the last week after Largie Ramazzani.

Both can play on the opposite flank, and at centre-forward.

Solomon moved to Europe in 2019 when he joined Shakhtar Donetsk, and had his first taste of English football when he was allowed to join Fulham on loan two seasons ago to escape the war in Ukraine.

All five of his goals came in five consecutive appearances in February/March. The FA Cup strike was against Leeds.

Last summer the ongoing situation in Ukraine allowed him to join Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer but he was limited to two league starts and is yet to score for the north London club, or feature in a matchday squad this season.

After Ramazzani, Solomon is the second forward to join since Georginio Rutter's £40m departure for Brighton and Hove Albion. But with winger Crysencio Summerville moving to West Ham United for £25m, the Whites are understood to be on the lookout for one more, as well as a midfielder and a full-back.

Hungary's Roland Sallai has been mentioned as a potential attacking recruit and Leeds had a bid rejected for Dejan Ljubicic, with reports they could make another attempt to sign the Cologne midfielder.

Sheffield United are understood to have rejected a bid for attacking midfielder/winger Gustavo Hamer and having missed out on Max Aarons, who previously played for manager Daniel Farke at Norwich City, last year, they retain an interest in the now-Bournemouth full-back.

The transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday.
