Team news: Jermaine Beckford, Joel Lynch (both hamstring), Danny Ward (foot) and Keith Southern (Achilles) remain sidelined for Town, with Lee Novak (foot) also expected to be missing.

Manchester City v Leeds United

Team news: Jamie Ashdown will come in for his eighth appearance in a United shirt as Neil Warnock continues his policy of playing the one-time Portsmouth goalkeeper in the Cups and Paddy Kenny in the league. Rodolph Austin is pushing for a recall after playing just six minutes of United’s last two games, while El-Hadji Diouf is also hoping to come in against the Premier League champions for his first start since the 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City a fortnight ago.

MK Dons v Barnsley

Team news: Stephen Dawson (ligaments) faces a further four weeks on the sidelines. Scott Wiseman picked up a knock in the Under-21s this week, while defender Jim McNulty has returned to training.

Championship

Crystal Palace v Middlesbrough

Team news: Jonathan Woodgate is expected to miss out through injury, with Andre Bikey and Seb Hines also doubts. Kieron Dyer could return. Scott McDonald (back), Justin Hoyte (hip) and Julio Arca (toe) are sidelined.

Hull City v Charlton Athletic

Team news: Alex Bruce returns to the squad after recovering form the dead leg that kept him out of the midweek win over Derby County but Abdoulaye Faye (calf) is still out. Gedo will start after scoring against the Rams but Sone Aluko is unlikely to feature in either home game this week despite recovering well from an Achilles injury.

Sheffield United v Colchester United

Team news: Mark Howard (thigh) remains some way off a first-team return, with Lecsinel Jean-Francois ‘at least three to four weeks’ away from a return from a knee injury, according to Danny Wilson. Loan star Dominic Poleon could be handed his home debut after arriving from Leeds.

League Two

AFC Wimbledon v Bradford City

Team news: Rory McArdle is again missing with the ankle injury he picked up against Fleetwood Town a fortnight ago but could yet to be fit for the League Cup final after returning to the training field on Thursday for a running session. Andrew Davies is likely to again start after coming through the midweek win at Wycombe unscathed despite three months out.

Rotherham United v Chesterfield

Team news: Craig Morgan is back in the fray for the Millers, still without the suspended Michael O’Connor. Scott Shearer is around a fortnight away from a first-term return.

York City v Barnet

Team news: Chris Smith is expected to return after injury to give City a timely boost following the broken leg suffered by Jon Challinor, who is expected to be out for five to six weeks with a broken fibula. He joins Lanre Oyebanjo (fractured skull), Chris Doig (ankle) and David McGurk (hamstring) on the injury list.
