Leeds United confirm more rail seating work at Elland Road
LEEDS United have confirmed that work has started on the installation of rail seating in the South Stand at Elland Road.
A trial phase of rail seating began in March 2022 and it was expanded across all of the North Stand upper tier and within parts of the away section in 2024.
Following advice from the Sports Grounds Safety Authority, the club is now installing further rail seats in all sections of the South Stand.
The South Stand upper tier, along with areas FA1 and FA6 in the South Stand lower tier will be completed in time for the club’s forthcoming home Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, November 7.

The remaining seats not completed in the South Stand lower tier are due to be completed for the following home match against Coventry City on Saturday, November 28.
While maintaining the need for seating throughout games, the rails will allow fans to stand comfortably during key moments in games and offer a safer experience for supporters.
The club have reassured fans located in that vicinity of the South Stand that the rails will not impact any line of vision, nor will they restrict access to seats in any way.
