'I think that’s his hope' - Ex-Everton chief makes prediction over Leeds United star Dominic Calvert-Lewin
A former Everton chief has made a prediction regarding Leeds United star Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness believes Dominic Calvert-Lewin will remain “loyal” to Leeds United.
The 29-year-old has enjoyed a new lease of life at Elland Road, netting 20 goals across 49 appearances since his free transfer move from Everton in the summer of 2025.
His form has pushed him back into the England fold and put a smile back on the face of the frontman after a difficult period on Merseyside.
Scintillating form always draws eyeballs but Wyness, who served as Everton’s CEO between 2004 and 2009, believes Calvert-Lewin will be focused on reaching Europe with Leeds.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin prediction made
He told Football Insider: “I think that’s his hope (Europe with Leeds). There'll be temptations, but I think he's going to be loyal and I think he will stay with Leeds.
“I think the temptation will be saying, should he be going to other clubs to get European football? Well, I don't think that's really going to be his main motivation.
“He knows as a striker that the satisfaction of scoring goals and if you've got a team playing to your style and playing in the way you want it, that's worth more than just a few European nights.
“And look, an in-form Calvert-Lewin can be the difference to get them into Europe. He really could be. If he stays fit all season, he'll be banging in the goals that can certainly get them the top half and around those European places.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s strong start to the season
Calvert-Lewin already has five goals under his belt this season after just 10 outings. His last goal was a crucial one, securing a point for Leeds in their 1-1 draw with bitter rivals Manchester United on October 18.
If Leeds are to push on and live more comfortably in the top tier this term, a continuation of the marksman’s strong form could prove crucial.
