Which Leeds United players starred and who flopped in 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa?

Leeds United’s winless streak stretched into its seventh game with a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa.

They actually played very well for the most part in the first hour without taking their chances, and gifted Villa a goal.

Illan Meslier – got on a hand on Emi Buendia's goal but his weight was dragging it down as it went over his head 6

Luke Ayling – a good performance from the right-back 7

Robin Koch – unconvincing performance 5

Liam Cooper – some good backs-to-the-wall defending 7

Pascal Struijk – desperately out of form in 2023 5

Tyler Adams – hungry to win the ball in midfield 7

Jack Harrison – not given the easiest job shuttling between the wing and midfield but had some good moments, the best being the pass Rodrigo took around the goalkeeper 7

Brenden Aaronson – another who looks really short of confidence, although he did make a chance with a brilliant free-kick 5

Wilfried Gnonto – outstanding throughout, he made Leeds' goal 8

Rodrigo – good movement, but he will be annoyed he did not score after taking the ball around Emiliano Martinez 7
