MATCH CENTRE Huddersfield Town 0 Tranmere Rovers 0: Clark admits Terriers were 'average'

Huddersfield Town were held to a scoreless draw by Tranmere Rovers today in League One.

Lee Clark had no fresh injury concerns after his squad came through the opening two games of the season unscathed.

It meant the Town manager was without only Nathan and Tom Clarke for the visit of Rovers.

Five players made their competitive home debuts - defenders Gary Naysmith and Jamie McCombe, midfielders Scott Arfield and Joey Gudjonsson and loan striker Joe Garner.

There were no goals, but Gary Naysmith was sent off late in the game for two bookings.

Clark said: "Poor might be a bit harsh, but we were average at best.

"The plus point is the clean sheet and I thought the two full-backs played to their usual level, but I don't think anyone else will have enhanced their reputation today.

"We didn't play with any tempo and Tranmere came and did a good job on us."
