ROTHERHAM UNITED have signed Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dominic Ball for an undisclosed fee - taking their number of captures so far this month to five.

The Millers beat off interest from Scottish giants Rangers to sign the 21-year-old, who spent a productive spell on loan at Ibrox last term.

Ball can also operate in central defence and his signing follows the addition of Celtic right-back Darnell Fisher.

The Welwyn Garden City-born player, who has been capped by England Under-20s and who also spent a loan spell at Cambridge United in early 2015, made a big impression during his time at Rangers last term, featuring 30 times.

But despite Rangers chief Mark Warburton being keen to bring back to player, Millers manager Alan Stubbs has persuaded Ball to join the Championship outfit on a permanent basis on a three-year deal.

The Millers, who visit Aston Villa tomorrow, have also signed Jon Taylor, Scott Allan and Kelvin Wilson this month.

Ball is the club’s ninth summer signing with Jake Forster-Caskey, Will Vaulks, Lewis Price and Anthony Forde also joining.
