MK Dons next manager: Former Bradford City, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday and QPR men among frontrunners

Faces familiar with fans of Bradford City, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday are among the frontrunners to fill the Milton Keynes Dons vacancy.

MK Dons have been handed an obstacle early on in the campaign, losing head coach Mike Williamson to League Two rivals Carlisle United. Williamson led the Dons to the semi-finals of the League Two play-offs last season, having joined the club from National League outfit Gateshead.

When managerial changes happen during the season, clubs cannot afford to move slowly as they seek a successor. Lengthy caretaker manager reigns can prove difficult and momentum can be lost.

Fortunately for the Dons, there is an array of talented and experienced coaches currently out of work. Many have emerged emerged among the early frontrunners for the role, which is currently being filled temporarily by club legend Dean Lewington.

Here are the BetVictor frontrunners to become the new head coach of Milton Keynes Dons.
