A figure familiar with fans of Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City has emerged as the favourite to take charge of Gillingham.

There has been a recent flurry of sackings in the EFL and among the victims was Neil Harris, who Gillingham opted to axe.

He has yet to be replaced but speculation regarding his successor is rife.
