Sheffield United, Bristol City, Stoke City and Preston North End show 'interest' in Ipswich Town's Harry Clarke
Sheffield United have been credited with interest in a former Blades loanee
Sheffield United are reportedly interested in re-signing defender Harry Clarke from Ipswich Town.
The 25-year-old, a right-back by trade, spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Bramall Lane, making six appearances before injury curtailed his campaign.
He returned to Ipswich last summer, following their relegation to the Championship, but was loaned to Charlton Athletic in January.
The Tractor Boys were promoted back to the Premier League in Clarke’s absence and a return to the second tier for the defender now appears likely.

Sheffield United linked with Ipswich Town defender
According to reporter Ben Jacobs, Sheffield United are among the clubs with an interest in the Arsenal academy product.
However, he is also thought to be in the sights of Sheffield United’s Championship rivals Bristol City, Stoke City and Preston North End.
Posting on X, Jacobs said: “Harry Clarke has interest from Bristol City, Stoke, Sheffield United and Preston. Bristol City most advanced. Permanent exit likely.”
Clarke is a reliable operator at Championship level and would arguably be a sensible addition for a host of second-tier clubs.

Praise from Chris Wilder
If Sheffield United do look to strike a deal, they may be hoping familiarity gives them an edge. When the South Yorkshire club signed Clarke in 2025, Blades boss Chris Wilder said: “He's young but has got good experience for his age and knows what it's like to be successful at this level.
“He's someone we've identified over a period of time, and we're really pleased he's chosen to come here when others have shown interest.”
Clarke joined Ipswich in 2023 having failed to make a first-team breakthrough at Arsenal. A former England youth international, he has made a total of 67 appearances across all competitions for the Tractor Boys.
