Sheffield United stance on Ryan One outlined amid talk of 'interest' from Leicester City and Rangers

Sheffield United’s reported stance on Ryan One has been outlined following links to Leicester City and Rangers

Sheffield United do not want to sell Leicester City and Rangers-linked forward Ryan One, according to a report.

The 20-year-old arrived in South Yorkshire from Hamilton Academical in 2023, having made waves in his native Scotland at a young age.

He has since made 22 senior appearances for the Blades and spent the second half of last season on loan at Lincoln City. The frontman helped the Imps seal promotion from League One, scoring five goals in 16 appearances for the club and thriving under the tutelage of Michael Skubala.

Ryan One transfer talk

Tongues were recently set wagging when League One outfit Leicester and Scottish giants Rangers were linked with One.

Posting on X, reporter Ben Jacobs said: “Understand Leicester City and Rangers are both showing an interest in Sheffield United forward Ryan One.”

Sky Sports have also credited Leicester with interest, but have also claimed Sheffield United do not want to part with the highly-rated prospect.

It has been claimed a significant offer would be required to push the Blades into negotiations over a move for One.

Ryan One’s Sheffield United contract

Sheffield United handed the Scotland Under-21s international a new contract in 2024, tying him down to a deal running until 2029.

When One penned fresh terms at Bramall Lane, the club’s academy manager Derek Geary said: “We are delighted Ryan has committed to a long-term deal with us.

“He's had a lot of good development over the last 10 months and I credit Mickey Collins, Danny Cadamarteri and the coaching staff for that.

“He's still very young but has all the potential to go to the highest level. His attitude, character and potential is very much a Sheffield United player and we are delighted to have him.”
