Brentford to 'step up' transfer interest in Sheffield United's Nottingham Forest-linked midfielder Sydie Peck
Brentford are reportedly prepared to step up their interest in Sheffield United midfielder Sydie Peck.
The 21-year-old joined the Blades from Arsenal’s academy as a teenager and is now a key figure in the senior set-up at Bramall Lane.
An England youth international, Peck has developed at a swift rate over the course of his 88 outings in Sheffield United colours.
Brentford have previously been linked with the combative midfielder, as have Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.

According to SportsBoom, Brentford are poised to jump to the front of the queue for Peck’s signature when the summer transfer window opens.
Bees boss Keith Andrews worked with Peck during his brief stint in Chris Wilder’s coaching team, but is not the only connection to the midfield prodigy.
Assistant first-team coach Jack Lester played a key role in Peck’s development from academy prospect to first-team figure and his presence could also help grease the wheels for a move. Brentford may also hold a geographical appeal given Peck is an Enfield-born Londoner.
A tough summer ahead for Sheffield United
Sheffield United are set for a summer of belt-tightening as they get ready for life in the Championship without parachute payments.
When quizzed about the futures of Peck and fellow midfield star Gustavo Hamer last week, Wilder said: "If we have to sell a player or two, then we will do as long as we don't give them away. That's my take on it. We have to raise money.

"The owners put a lot of money in to buy the football club. They put a lot of money in, in terms of the investment they put in at the start of the season. If that's the case, then that's the case.
"I'm okay with that. But we can't develop these players and just let them go for nothing. We can't buy players and let them go cheaply or not at a price where we don't think it's the right price for us.”
Peck has made 40 appearances for Sheffield United this season, registering four goals and five assists.
