Wrexham 'keen' on Sheffield United's Callum O'Hare as they 'finalise' deal for Blades-linked Burnley man

Wrexham have been linked with a Sheffield United star - and appear to be closing in on a Blades ‘target’

Sheffield United playmaker Callum O’Hare is reportedly attracting interest from Wrexham less than 48 hours before the transfer deadline.

The 28-year-old has started all three of Sheffield United’s league games this term and got on the scoresheet in their 2-2 draw with Cardiff City at the weekend.

He has been an important figure for the Blades since his move from Coventry City in 2024, amassing 98 appearances and weighing in with 14 goals and 14 assists.

Wrexham linked with Sheffield United star

According to The Star, Championship promotion hopefuls Wrexham are keen on making a late move for the fleet-footed attacking midfielder.

Sheffield United lost a considerable amount of creativity when they sold Gustavo Hamer to Coventry, therefore the departure of O’Hare would be an incredibly bitter blow.

Blades boss Chris Wilder is likely to be keen on keeping the Aston Villa academy product, although Wrexham have the finances to make tempting offers.

Joe Worrall deal being ‘finalised’

Wrexham are also said to be on the verge of signing Sheffield United-linked defender Joe Worrall from Burnley on a permanent basis.

The 29-year-old has been linked with the Blades on a number of occasions over the years and talk of interest from Bramall Lane recently resurfaced.

He has found opportunities limited at Turf Moor but does not appear South Yorkshire-bound, as reporter Ben Jacobs has claimed Wrexham are finalising a deal.

Worrall would have arguably been a shrewd addition for the Blades, who will seemingly have to explore other options if they want to strengthen at the back before the deadline.

It has been a tough transfer window for Sheffield United, who have seen off-field uncertainty creep into their side of the Steel City.

Supporters will be keeping a keen eye on developments over the next two days, undoubtedly keen to see O’Hare stay put and some incoming business tied up.
