Blackburn Rovers v Sheffield United: Goal shortage not troubling Chris Wilder
Two games into the Championship season, Sheffield United are still to score but manager Chris Wilder says he is reasonably happy with where they are right now.
The Blades have not conceded in either, or the League Cup, which they return to on Tuesday with a second-round trip to Blackburn Rovers. Considering Wilder has made it known Japhet Tanganga is the only senior central defender he has full confidence in, that is no mean feat.
And they outshot Swansea City in south Wales at the weekend.
"I think we're in a really good place," was Wilder’s verdict. "I've been delighted with a lot of the aspects of our play.
"You give yourself an opportunity of winning games by being defensively sound. (There was) not enough created on opening day to win but it's important we got a result as well.
"Our approach (at Swansea) wasn't a negative approach in terms of the way we played and we restricted a really good team. We created the better chances, in my opinion, but I thought it was really important we stuck to the gameplan."
Money is very tight but as well as bringing in ideally two centre-backs, Wilder is looking for a new left winger, probably on loan.
"We've lost (Andre) Brooks and Gus (Hamer) and we've changed the shape (at Swansea, to 3-1-4-2), there is a lot more to come from the forwards," he said.

"Getting the players in that we want will improve us and we will be stronger, in my opinion, when the window shuts."
Free agent centre-back Adam Webster was spotted in Sheffield last week.
"He's an interesting one for us," said Wilder. "He came up for a couple of days, I can't really deny that, can I? He's of interest to us."
Despite being linked to Portsmouth, Wilder said Rhys Norrington-Davies "will be involved".
