'Disappointed' Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder on feeling hard done by after late Wolves loss
SHEFFIELD United manager Chris Wilder said he was ‘disappointed’ for his players after being undone at the death in Sunday’s 1-0 Championship reverse against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Bramall Lane.
United were on the cusp of securing a hard-earned point against relegatred Wandererers, among the favourites for automatic promotion alongside West Ham.
But substitute Raul Jimenez had other ideas, with the Mexican international winning it at the far post after the hosts were opened up on an afternoon when Jordan Ayew make his bow from the bench.
Wilder said: "I am disappointed. It was a really good performance against a top side.

"It's not a 'yo-yo' Premier League club, is it (Wolves)? It's possibly £150 million (spent) times 10 seasons.
"They have spent a bit. They were an established Premier League club. They've lost a couple of players, as you understand, but still got some really good players.
"I thought especially second half is the game that we wanted. Gary Rowett said - I think before in his pre-match assessment - it's really difficult how to approach these games because when you're playing these teams, especially at the top of the pitch, if you go after them and you don't get the press right, then they could pick it off.
"I think the shape of the team was good. There were good individual performances right the way through from everybody.

"And in the second half, it was the game that we wanted. From us, I was just slightly disappointed when we got into some good positions, good territory. we didn't find the quality. They found their quality with the goal.
"We can talk about maybe we see the run. (Kieran) Trippier has done that all his career. It was a great ball by the midfield player (to find him). We don't plug the gap in the middle of the goal.
"It comes off Rhys (Norrington-Davies) and Tommy Doyle shanks it and it goes straight to Jimenez.
"People are quick to talk that how lucky we've been this season and maybe they might be quick to talk that maybe we were slightly unfortunate not to get a result (here).
"I'm not sat here with rose-tinted glasses saying we absolutely dominated it.
"I don't like that and other managers do that. I see the game the way I see it. They're a good side.
"They should be up there with the players that they've got, substitutions that they make. We're toe-to-toe with a good side. I am just disappointed for the players and the supporters."
Praising his side's supporters, who provided applause to those in red and white at the final whistle, he added: "The supporters were fabulous for us today. They gave the boys real energy.
"So when people talk about making the shirt light, the players set that off.
"They got the balance right from sitting in and being compact to when we went after it and broke it up.
"The supporters didn't get impatient which was great and gave the boys some real energy that we needed and obviously we're disappointed to come away with nothing."
