The away side had 22 shots at goal, but nothing to show for it as they yet again drew a blank.

With Conor Gallagher scoring in the first half, the Blades were condemned to a 1-0 defeat which keeps them bottom of the table and lifts the Baggies out of the relegation zone. It was the first time Slaven Bilic's side have won all season. Sheffield United are still waiting for that.

Aaron Ramsdale – some very good saves to keep it at 1-0 8

Chris Basham – got forward gamely as usual, but off target on a couple of occasions 6

John Egan – a couple of important blocks 7

Kean Bryan – unable to keep with Karlan Grant in the moment that led to the goal 6

George Baldock – created and missed some very good chances 6

Sander Berge – created an excellent chance for Oli McBurnie 7

Oliver Norwood – just not been able to hit his pre-lockdown heights, although he is not alone in that 6

John Fleck – showed moments of quality in the first half 7

Max Lowe – did a job at left wing-back 6

Oli McBurnie – must be judged on goals and he is not delivering 5

Oliver Burke – excellent display against his old club but he was unable to conjur the much-needed goal 8.

Brewster (for Norwood, 54) – chances fell to him but he could not put them away. Badly needs a first Blades goal 5

Lundstram (for Bryan, 64) – put in a couple of really good curling crosses 6
