Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday duo in mix for League One awards - alongside Bradford City man
THREE Yorkshire managers are in the running for EFL player-of-the-month accolades for August - including two in the same division following strong starts from their respective clubs to the new 2026-27 season.
Huddersfield Town head coach Martin Drury - in his first role as a permanent head coach in the Football League - has been shortlisted for the League One managerial gong.
Drury's side took seven points from three unbeaten games last month - and it would have been a full house but for a poor refereeing decision at MK Dons.
Wednesday won two of their three games under Pedersen, headlined by a brilliant 7-2 demolition of Bromley at Hillsborough.

Drury and Pedersen are battling it out for the award alongside Blackpool's Ian Evatt and Stockport County's Jim McNulty.
Meanwhile, three White Rose Yorkshire players are competing for the players’ award.
Wednesday striker Jamal Lowe, who notched three goals and provided one assist last month, is among the nominees alongside rejuvenated Town forward Joe Taylor, who scored three times in August in a stellar showing.
Dependable Bradford City defender Matt Pennington is also among the candidates alongside Blackpool keeper - and former Leeds United and Owls custodian - Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

York City chief Scott Lindsay is among the candidates for the League Two managerial accolade - having initially received plenty of opprobrium from Minstermen supporters after he was controversially brought into replace Stuart Maynard.
Lindsey's City took seven points from three unbeaten league games last month in an encouraging start to life back as an EFL club.
Two former Huddersfield bosses in Lee Grant, now at Walsall, and Danny Cowley, who manages Colchester United are also in the mix for the award alongside Barnet chief Dean Brennan.
Meanwhile, recent signing Harry Boyes is among the player-of-the-month candidates in the fourth tier following a barnstorming start to life at the club.
The Barnsley-raised left-back and ex-Sheffield United man scored two goals on his debut against Bristol Rovers and has added three assists with his pinpoint crossing ability.
Boyes is competing against ex-Harrogate Town man Josh March, now at Crewe Alexandra, Barnet midfielder Charlie Lakin and Newport County striker Shaquille Gwengwe.
All award winners will be announced on Friday morning.
