Roofe attracted national attention as he scored twice to upset new boss Garry Monk’s former team Swansea City in the FA Cup third round.

Goals continued to flow off the former West Bromwich Albion trainee’s boots and he also led the Us to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final where they lost to Barnsley.

The attacker can either play wide or through the middle and is sure to command a place at the forefront of Monk’s plans for the new campaign.
