Hull Seahawks post positive response to heavy defeat by hammering Bristol Pitbulls
MATTY DAVIES was understandably pleased to get a positive response from his Hull Seahawks team after their 7-0 thrashing by Swindon Wildcats.
But he refused to let the 14-3 hammering of rock-bottom Bristol Pitbulls 24 hours later excuse the shortcomings of his team’s display in Wiltshire.

Emil Svec led the way for Hull on home ice with four goals - including a hat-trick inside two second period minutes - with Owen Bruton and Patrick Brown grabbing two apiece.
Noah Kääriäinen, Johnny Corneil, Finlay Ulrick, Alex Kent, Jack Musil and Ethan Daintith also got on the scoresheet as the Pitbulls’ campaign sunk to even lower depths.
As scintillating as his team’s display was in front of their own fans on Sunday night, head coach Davies admitted the previous night’s loss still stung.
“By no means does it cover up that (defeat in Swindon), I'll be honest,” said Davies in his post-match interview on Sunday. “Because I struggle to accept that we can put in a performance like that.
“But, a new day and all that, it's a really positive win for many reasons. It was obviously a reaction and there were some honest words spoken today.
“They're all good lads and they care about it and they care about the club and how they play and all them things and you can see that.
“It was a reaction and we needed to win. It's a good feeling for them lads to put in a performance like that and feel a little bit more positive about the weekend.
“But I'll go back to it - 10 goals conceded this weekend is not good enough from our point of view. So it’s positive tonight, but we still take away that heavy loss in Swindon and it'll stay for a little bit yet.”
