Rotherham United v Dagenham & Redbridge: Rotherham deserve award insists Scott

ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott has dedicated his npower Manager of the Month award for August to the whole club.

The Millers, who host Dagenham & Redbridge today, picked up 13 points from a possible 15 and are currently second in the League Two table.

“It’s a personal accolade but it’s for the club as a whole,” said Scott.

“It’s for the fans and the way the chairman and the board have done everything I’ve wanted, embraced it, and run with it.

“We deserve this award because a lot has gone on at this club over the last three or four months. Everyone has been positive about it and wanted to make changes.

“Hopefully, it will be the first of many,” he added.

“If I am getting awards, it means we are all doing the right things.”

Scott pays scant regard to talk of a curse with the award saying: “There are no jinxes in football. It’s about how you prepare and how your perform on the day against 11 players.”
