Castleford Tigers boss Ryan Carr responds to Jack Brown speculation

Castleford Tigers head coach Ryan Carr has poured cold water on speculation linking Jack Brown with an immediate switch to Wheldon Road.

The Hull KR prop was reported to have joined the Tigers in time to make his debut against St Helens this weekend.

However, while he confirmed that Brown is on board for next season, Carr refuted the claim that Castleford had secured him early.

"Have we?" laughed Carr, who recently welcomed Tyler Dupree and Phoenix Laulu-Togaga'e as part of an ongoing rebuild. "Let me know when that's happening.

"He's not in the building. The squad we're running out this week will be very similar to the one we ran out last week against York.

"It's been documented that we've signed him for '27. In terms of getting him in early, that's not my wheelhouse. That's Chezzy's (Chris Chester, director of rugby) space.

"I work with the playing group we've got right now. My complete focus is on trying to win this game this weekend."
