Castleford Tigers shake-up continues with Brett Delaney exit
Castleford Tigers assistant Brett Delaney has left Wheldon Road with immediate effect.
The former Hull KR coach joined ex-Leeds Rhinos team-mate Danny McGuire at Castleford in late 2024 but struggled to bring about a defensive improvement.
Only the embattled Salford Red Devils conceded more points than the Tigers last season and they have one of the competition's leakiest defences again this year.
Delaney's departure continues the Ryan Carr-led rebuild.
"Castleford Tigers can confirm that coach Brett Delaney has left the club," read a statement released on Wednesday morning
"We would like to thank Brett for his efforts over the last 18 months and wish him well for the future.
"Chris Chester will work closely with Ryan Carr to review the coaching department before making an appointment for the 2027 season."
