Matty English vows to 'come back stronger' at York Knights after easing injury pain with permanent move
Matty English is determined to show York Knights what he can offer after the injured prop's permanent move from Huddersfield Giants was officially confirmed.
The 28-year-old linked up with the Knights on loan in July, only to suffer an ACL injury before playing a game for Mark Applegarth's side.
English is already looking ahead to his return as he throws all his energy into launching his York career next season.
"I'm really excited for the next couple of years with the Knights," he said.
"It wasn't the start I could have hoped for but I am doing everything I can to make sure I come back stronger than before.
"Seeing how passionate the fans are and how together this group of lads are is making me even more excited to get out on that field and push for silverware."
English has ended his long association with boyhood club Huddersfield to join the Knights.
The Giants academy product made more than 150 first-team appearances over a decade at the Accu Stadium.

English becomes the latest player to commit to York for 2027 following the signings of Cameron McInnes, Max Jowitt, Zak Hardaker, Blake Lawrie, Cody Hunter and David Nofoaluma.
"I'm over the moon to get Matty over the line because he's a real quality player," said Knights boss Applegarth.
"It was very unfortunate for Matty that he got injured coming on loan. We signed Matty with a long-term vision and think he'll be a big part of York moving forward.
"He's due back in the first two or three months of the season so what a boost that'll be. He's a quality person, a quality player and the sort of player that we want at York Knights to take us on this journey moving forward."
