No deal done yet for Canberra Raiders half-back Sam Williams, insists Wakefield Trinity head coach Chris Chester
Trinity have been linked with a move for the 29-year-old Australian, who spent a season at Belle Vue in 2017 before joining the Raiders ahead of the 2018 campaign.

Williams is a player with plenty of experience in Super League and the NRL, having made his debut with Canberra in 2011. He spent three seasons at the club before signing for St. George Illawarra Dragons and then the Catalans Dragons.
He returned to the Raiders in 2015 but left again for Wakefield in 2017, where he made 24 appearances and scored six tries. He went back to Canberra for a third time but Chester has been in contact with the player recently.

"I have been speaking to a number of players who are off-contract over here and those that are off-contract in the NRL.
"A lot of it will come down to the budget. We still don't know where we are at budget wise with regards to the club.

"No deal has been done with Sam Williams or any other player at this moment in time."
