'One of game's most devastating forwards': Willie Peters hopes Tevita Pangai Junior has his day at Hull KR

Hull KR boss Willie Peters believes new signing Tevita Pangai Junior has the potential to be one of the most devastating forwards in Super League during his stay at Craven Park.

The one-time New South Wales representative links up with the Robins on a deal until the end of the 2026 season, adding size and power to Peters' pack.

Pangai Junior, who played for Brisbane Broncos, Penrith Panthers, Canterbury Bulldogs and the Dolphins in the NRL, made 23 appearances for Catalans Dragons last year.

The 30-year-old had been due to join Warrington Wolves for this season, only to renege on that deal.

Rovers have therefore had to pay their Super League rivals a transfer fee to take over his RFL registration.

"We want to welcome Tevita Pangai Junior to Hull KR," said Peters, whose side took their winning run to eight games with victory at Leigh Leopards on Saturday.

"Tevita has played at the highest level. On his day, Tevita is one of the most devastating forwards in the game.

"Tevita is hungry and determined to win over the fans and his team-mates."

Pangai Junior joins Rovers ahead of back-to-back games against Wigan Warriors.

Peters' men host the Warriors in Super League this Thursday before a Wembley showdown in the Challenge Cup final next weekend.

"I'm really excited to be joining Hull KR," said Pangai Junior.

"I just want to thank Willie, Paul (Lakin) and the rest of the board for giving me this opportunity to join a winning culture and be in a great environment, which can hopefully allow me to play my best rugby."
