Full-back: Jamie Shaul (Hull FC) - proved too hot to handle for Wakefield with a series of quality kick-returns, making a massive 175m and also coming up with a try.

Winger: Ash Handley (Leeds Rhinos) - immediately put his England disappointment behind him with a confident performance against Toronto, scoring his fourth try of the season and producing a game best 158m.

Centre: Ryan Atkins (Wakefield Trinity) - Some great performances from Leeds Rhinos duo Harry Newman and Konrad Hurrell plus Hull KR’s Shaun Kenny-Dowall but Atkins scored two tries on his 100th Trinity appearance and was a strong runner all night.

Centre: Jake Wardle (Huddersfield Giants) - Enjoyed a great night at the champions, scoring a crucial try to beat St Helens and making 160m. Earning rave reviews at the moment.

Winger: Tom Johnstone (Wakefield Trinity) - It is beyond ridiculous how he gets the ball down with some of these finishes. Another two belters against Hull to take his season tally to five. Shame they were both in vain.

Stand-off: Marc Sneyd (Hull FC) - Two-try Robert Lui was excellent for Leeds but, in terms of importance, Sneyd has to be in; yet another drop-goal for Hull FC as he held his nerve in Golden Point extra-time to help avoid a fourth successive defeat.

Scrum-half: Luke Gale (Leeds Rhinos) - Scored two tries, produced one mesmerising assist and passed 1,500 Super League points as Leeds destroyed Toronto. Back to his best.

Prop: Scott Taylor (Hull FC) - back in the England squad and set an excellent lead for Hull; strong, resilient and never stopped.

Hooker: Paul McShane (Castleford Tigers) - As busy as ever at Warrington. Had a terrific start to the season, shown by his England call-up and Steve Prescott Man of Steel rankings, yet somehow not made the Team of the Week previously. So he’s in now followed closely by Adam O’Brien and Brad Dwyer.

Prop: Daniel Smith (Castleford Tigers) - Stood up well in the absence of injured Liam Watts and got through a mountain of work for Castleford.

Second-row: Josh Jones ( Hull FC) - Was a real handful against Wakefield, getting through the dirty stuff but also coming up with some quality like his pass for Albert Kelly’s try.

Second-row: Cheyse Blair (Castleford Tigers) - The Australian is well-suited to his new role and picked up another MOM for Castleford in their heartbreaking defeat at Warrington. Switched back to centre when Pete Mata’utia was injured.

Loose forward: Michael Lawrence (Huddersfield Giants) - It’s never easy winning at Saints and you need some graft; Lawrence got through 56 tackles to help keep them at bay.
