The city of York has a reputation for being one of the most ‘haunted cities in Europe’ that hosts Ghosts in the Garden every year exhibiting historic sculptures - here are the best photos from the event.

York BID and Unconventional Design organised the event Ghosts in the Garden this year in honour of the city’s ‘haunted’ history.

They have created 60 translucent 3D sculptures formed from narrow gauge wire mesh in various shapes. They have created 10 new sculptures for 2025.

This year’s sculptures are displayed around the city from Friday, September 19 to Sunday, November 2, 2025.
