Catherine Scott has spent 30 years in journalism, the last 19 of them at the Yorkshire Post which she joined as Features Editor from the Nottingham Post in 2002. She started her career as a news reporter on her local weekly paper after gaining a Humanities Degree at Huddersfield University. After moving into evening papers she was promoted to health correspondent and then moved onto the news desk. After starting a family she moved to Yorkshire and joined the Yorkshire Post as Features Editor. She became Editor of the award-winning Yorkshire Post Magazine in 2022 and is proud to promote all that is great about God's Own County.
Catherine has a special interest in lifestyle content and commissions and writes for the Magazine on a variety of subjects. She creates the weekly Yorkshire Post Lifestyle Newsletter and video as well as digital content.
She has a particular interest in food and drink and is a judge of the Deliciously Yorkshire Taste Awards, alongside the likes of Yorkshire foodies Nigel Barden and Stephanie Moon.
Among her career highlights are cooking with Leeds-born Marco Pierre White at the Box Tree in Ilkley and having fish and chips with grand dame Barbara Taylor Bradford at Claridges in London - oh and meeting the now King when he opened a hospital unit she helped convert into an overnight stay unit for parents of seriously ill children.
