Clyde celebrates £1m US contract

ENGINEER Clyde Process Solutions has won a £1m contract with the leading US producer of PVC to provide systems for its plant in Texas.

The Doncaster-based group, which specialises in pneumatic processing systems for industries including food and mining, will provide the US customer with a series of vacuum unloading systems and pneumatic conveying systems to handle PVC resin.

It will also supply an air filtration system that will be used to capture process dust.

In a bid to expand its petrochemicals business, an industry that could deliver significant future growth, the group has appointed Jan van Bakergem as Director of Petrochemicals.

Mr van Bakergem has held a number of senior management positions in the petrochemicals market and the group said he will bring significant knowledge and expertise.

He will lead the development of a global petrochemicals strategy based from the group's North American operations. Clyde chief executive Alex Stewart said: "We have identified the petrochemicals market as one that could deliver significant growth in the coming years and I am delighted to have secured this order with an existing customer.

"I am also very pleased to welcome Jan to our team. Jan is an extremely experienced and successful senior executive in the petrochemicals market and will play an integral role in the global development of our strategy in this industry."
