As well as all the great sport going on locally, this weekend is also kind of a big deal on the national and international scale.

The Masters golf and the Grand National take pride of place but with two big boxing bouts, top level cycling, the latest round of exciting Premier League football and much more your couch is probably the best place to be.

It all kicks off at 7pm on Friday and comes to an end in the early hours of Monday. During that time - over 53 hours - there will be live televised sport for all but one hour.

Although the golf gets under way on Thursday, the sporting marathon truly begins on Friday night with day two of the Masters and through the early hours of Saturday morning with a combination of Major League Baseball from the US, and Aussie Rules football.

No into those? Well there are some brief breaks on Saturday morning so get anything that needs doing around the house out of the way because from there on in it’s non-stop action.

The race for the Champions League places takes centre stage when West Ham entertain Arsenal at 12.45pm.

From 3pm there is live IPL cricket, followed by the major horse race of the sporting calendar, the Grand National, at 5.15pm.

Just as the winners cross the line you can switch over for more Premier League football this time Manchester City against West Brom at 5.30pm.

The Masters then takes over at 7pm before two huge fights involving great British heavyweight hope and Olympic golden boy Anthony Joshua, who faces his toughest test yet against Charles Martin at around 10pm before superstar Manny Pacquiao takes on Timothy Bradley in what could be his farewell bout at around 2am.

Sunday is equally frenetic as US and Australian sport takes us through the early hours, before elite cycling Paris-Roubaix begins around 9am.

That runs all the way through to 4pm, but if you fancy some football in-between you can switch over for the start of a Premier League double as relegation battlers Sunderland take on surprise league leaders Leicester at 1.30pm.

By that time the Foxes could be almost home and hosed for the a first ever Premier League title in this most open of seasons with a 10-point lead over Tottenham Hotspur who entertain Manchester United live at the culmination of the cycling from 4pm.

There’s more football, this time from Spain, in the evening as Villarreal vs Getafe fills the time before the final day of the Masters, which starts at 6pm and runs through until 12.30am on Monday depending on whether a play-off is needed to decide the winner.
