Murder probe launched after man attacked with weapons in Yorkshire
Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was attacked with weapons outside a home in Yorkshire.
West Yorkshire Police said officers were called to Hedley Chase in New Wortley following reports a man was being attacked with weapons shortly before 10.30pm on Saturday (Oct 24).
Emergency services attended the scene but despite the best efforts of paramedics, the 38-year-old man was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police immediately launched a murder probe, and a cordon is still in place in the area.
Detective Chief Inspector Dan Bates, of West Yorkshire Police’s homicide and major enquiry team said: “A man has tragically lost his life, and we are supporting his family at this tragic time.
“From initial reports, we understand that four people who were armed with weapons, carried out a sustained attack on the victim. We are working extremely hard to identify those individuals.
“We have significant resources working to get answers for his family and ensure that those responsible face justice for their actions.
“This was a targeted and isolated attack; we are appealing for any information to who may have been involved to come forward and provide details to us.”
