The westbound M62 has now reopened, and the eastbound carriageway has also reopened apart from one lane following a concern for safety incident which had required a full closure in both directions between junctions 22 and 24.

A post-incident procedure has been initiated according to West Yorkshire Police, which is normal practice for incidents such as this, and a scene remains in place as part of this process.

Officers thank motorists for their continued patience while traffic returns to normal in the area.
