Yorkshire bus drivers plan fresh strikes as industrial action escalates

Bus drivers are to stage fresh strikes in a dispute over pay after their union announced an escalation of industrial action.

Members of Unite at First South Yorkshire in Doncaster will walk out on April 14 and 17 as well as the previously announced dates of April 22 and 24.

The drivers took industrial action on March 28 and 30.

Unite said its members are seeking pay parity with drivers doing the same job at the company in Sheffield.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Our members at First South Yorkshire continue to have Unite’s full support.”
