Woman found
safe after
abduction

A woman seen on surveillance videos being abducted off a Philadelphia street has been reunited with her family hours after police said she was found safe outside Baltimore.

Officers also said they had arrested a man suspected of grabbing Carlesha Freeland-Gaither, 22.

Keisha Gaither, who a day earlier had sobbed as she pleaded for the safe return of her kidnapped daughter, told a Philadelphia news conference: “I’m taking my baby home. Thank you. Thank you so much.”

Law enforcement agents spotted her and the man in a car with a broken-out back window in Jessup, Maryland, authorities said.

Delvin Barnes, 37, was being held on an unrelated Virginia warrant alleging attempted capital murder, assault and malicious injury and he would face federal charges in the Philadelphia abduction, authorities said.
