Young musicians set to dazzle

THE Ripon Young Musicians of the Year competition has opened for 2012, with hundreds of youngsters from across the area expected to take part.

The popular competition, which aims to encourage young musicians living within 15 miles of the centre of Ripon, will take place on the evening of October 19 and October 20.

The adjudicator for the 2012 event is Ralph Allwood, formerly precentor and director of music at Eton College, and now a celebrated freelance musician.
