and another thing...

EVERYONE deserves a second chance right?

Especially in sport it seems with even Dean Richards – the coach responsible for instigating the rugby union ‘blood-gate’ scandal – back in the game at Newcastle Falcons.

Surely then the ECB and Kevin Pietersen can reconcile their differences as it is not much fun seeing our most flamboyant player on the sidelines.

Pietersen polarises opinion and there are plenty of people who quite simply do not like the guy and would be glad if they never saw him in an England shirt again.

There is no denying the South African-born star’s swagger or arrogance but nor is there any denying that the 32-year-old has talent in abundance.

Pietersen has pummelled runs for fun since being adopted into the England team in 2004 and there is no denying he remains the squad’s most exciting player.

Most controversial also and it is only right that he was punished for allegedly sending derogatory texts about his team-mates to South African colleagues.

But surely if Pietersen no longer wanted to play for England then why bother apologising for his actions as he has gone to the trouble of since doing so?
