'They’re there for a reason' - Aaron Ramsey wants Oxford United to 'grasp' Bradford City test

Aaron Ramsey has previewed his Oxford United side’s meeting with Bradford City

Oxford United head coach Aaron Ramsey is keen for his side to “grasp” their opportunites against high-flying Bradford City and Stockport County.

The U’s have climbed to eighth in the League One table, losing just once in the league so far this season. They are a side in form, but have two mammoth challenges on the horizon.

Ramsey’s men will host third-placed Bradford tomorrow (October 24) before welcoming table-toppers Stockport to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday (October 27).

Aaron Ramsey on Bradford City test

Oxford’s boss - an Arsenal and Wales stalwart in his playing days - said: “They’ve both started off the season well. It’s going to be a top game. We’re happy that we’re back home again with our supporters and it’s a chance for us now to really grasp these next two games, starting with Bradford.

“[There is] a lot to look forward to and a good test to see against two good opponents. But there is full focus on us and what we can do and can control.

“You’re always going to be asked different questions in this league. It’s up to us to come up with the answers on the day. We’re really looking forward to these games.

“They’re there for a reason. What they’re doing and trying to implement, they’ve had some joy from that. It’s going to be a tough test for us but we know where we want to go and where we want to be. I have every confidence in this team that we can deliver a really strong performance.”

New era at Bradford City

Bradford were recently rocked by the departure of manager Graham Alexander, who left West Yorkshire for Championship basement boys Preston North End.

The Bantams have replaced Alexander with his former Burnley teammate Michael Duff, who secured his first victory at the Valley Parade helm against Stevenage on October 17.
