Bromley v Huddersfield Town: Martin Drury's praise for 'big, big numbers' - plus a warning
IN terms of historical cachet of clubs faced so far in 2026-27, Huddersfield Town have yet to face a real 'name' opponent away from home in League One.
That is with all due respect to MK Dons, Cambridge United, Mansfield Town and now weekend opponents Bromley, whom Town encounter for the first time ever in a competitive meeting.
Martin Drury's side have registered a solid return by way of five points from a possible nine on the road. It could - and probably should - be a higher total, but the Town head coach should be consoled by several things.
His side remains unbeaten. While all the aforementioned clubs are not in the top bracket of big clubs in the third tier, they all present stiff examinations that can test groups physically and mentally.

Town visited two sides fresh from promotion in MK and Cambridge, while Mansfield had overpowered Luton Town 5-2 in their previous home game before facing the Terriers.
Now it's on to Bromley, another physically strong side who entertain their first 'fancied' club on home soil since their promotion to League One. Attitude will be key again for Town on a big day for the hosts.
Drury said: "Definitely and I think that's what League One is. I think you look at MK Dons, at times we played some exceptional football and then at times we made some mistakes with the ball.
"But from start to finish, every player was all in, fully invested, fully committed and running. That's why we're so tired at the end of the game because the numbers that the players are hitting are staggering in comparison to last season.

"They're big, big numbers that the players are hitting, and that's because of their mentalities, culture, togetherness and humility to keep going and the grit and determination they've shown.
"The only time that I will ever question anything is if I don't see or feel that, but I've seen it in every game. It's about being consistent because we have the quality. I've got massive belief in this group of players that we will be successful.
"But it'll take absolutely everything from every staff member and every player to ensure that we're consistent."
