'From what I'm told' - Fresh Joe Gelhardt claim emerges after Leeds United man's loan spell at Hull City
Ex-Premier League scout issues an update on the future of Leeds United’s Joe Gelhardt after Hull City loan
Leeds United have been tipped to sell versatile attacker Joe Gelhardt amid interest from Hull City.
The 24-year-old has struggled for minutes under Whites manager Daniel Farke, but back-to-back loan moves to Hull have breathed life into his career.
Gelhardt’s 15-goal haul last season helped the Tigers seal promotion to the Premier League and there has been talk of a return to the MKM Stadium.

Fresh Joe Gelhardt claim
According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, Hull are “very keen” on keeping Gelhardt around for their return to the top flight.
In addition, he has claimed Leeds are looking to offload the former England youth international on a permanent basis.
Brown told Football Insider: “Hull are very keen to keep Joe Gelhardt at the club. It's difficult when you're in their position and you win promotion to the Premier League when maybe you weren't necessarily expecting that just yet.
“The squad is weaker than maybe anybody else's at this level, but you also have the problem of what markets you're going to be able to shop in. You're competing with other, more established Premier League clubs now, which means clubs with more money and more reasons to attract players.
"So when somebody like Gelhardt, who has spent a good period at the club, is available, they have to make sure they can get a deal done.
"From what I'm told, he's not going to be part of Leeds plans and they want to sell, so that could mean Hull can get it done at a reasonable price which will be a boost.
"They're not going to have the money that other Premier League clubs do, so if they can do a discounted deal, they have to look at it.
"For Leeds, they want to improve their squad in other areas, so if they can move Gelhardt on quickly it could give them the money to invest elsewhere in their side."

Joe Gelhardt’s career path
Leeds signed Gelhardt in the summer of 2020, capitalising on off-field turmoil at Wigan Athletic to secure him for a bargain price.
He was initially limited to youth football at Thorp Arch, but soon made his way into the senior set-up under Marcelo Bielsa. Early signs were promising but Gelhardt struggled to kick on after some thrilling Premier League cameos.
While Leeds suffered relegation from the top flight. Gelhardt was out on loan at Sunderland. Relegation did not push Gelhardt back into limelight and after barely featuring in Farke’s first 18 months at the helm, his first loan switch to Hull was sanctioned in January 2025.
After helping the East Yorkshire outfit stay afloat in the Championship, a second loan agreement was struck in the summer.
Last month, when asked if he would gladly pen a permanent Tigers deal, he responded: "It's a good question, isn't it? Let's see what happens over the summer, but it's pretty clear what I want to do.”
