Leeds United 'not alone' as they 'look' at AC Milan's ex-Arsenal prospect Yunus Musah

A fresh claim regarding reported interest from Leeds United in AC Milan’s Yunus Musah

Leeds United could reportedly be entering a battle if they make a move for AC Milan fringe player Yunus Musah.

The 23-year-old is still on the books at the San Siro but was deemed surplus to requirements last season and loaned to Atalanta.

There was an option to buy inserted in his loan deal, but it has not been taken up following the end of the 2025/26 Serie A campaign.

Leeds were recently tipped to explore a deal for the midfielder, who can also operate as a wing-back and has 47 USA caps under his belt.

Leeds United face potential competition for AC Milan man

However, former Premier League scout Mick Brown has warned the Whites could face competition for Musah’s signature.

In an interview with Football Insider, Brown said: “Leeds are not alone in looking at him. If Musah is going to become available, I expect Leeds will be one of a few clubs across Europe interested in doing a deal.

"Any player in his position is bound to attract a lot of interest. He's highly-rated and will probably be available, so lots of teams will be aware and on high alert. It would have been good for them to watch him at the World Cup but he won’t be involved there.

“Daniel Farke is keen to be backed in the summer, he’s spoken out to demand the board shows some ambition, so we can expect Leeds to be busy. But there are clubs willing to compete with them, so if they want to get a deal done, they might have to move quickly to beat them to it.

"It's a problem Leeds will face a lot this summer, they want to be ambitious but that also means you're competing with other top clubs and it can be difficult to get deals done."

Yunus Musah’s career path

Musah cut his teeth in Arsenal’s academy before making the leap into senior football with Spanish outfit Valencia.

After 108 appearances for the La Liga club, Musah completed a switch to AC Milan in the summer of 2023. He has since amassed 82 appearances for the Italian heavyweights, registering five assists.
